Foundational Erosion

Most all homeowners know that if the foundation of their home begins to erode away, the very structure is in serious trouble.  A loose brick here and there, a damaging crack must be addressed or one weak spot will soon lead to disintegration to a whole section.  In time, if ignored, such structural weaknesses, will lead to a complete declaration of condemnation.  Thus, leaving the structure unfit for human habitation.  Then the authorities move in with the wrecking ball and bulldozers to remove the condemned building.

Dear friends, America’s Judeo-Christian foundational bricks and mortar are likewise eroding due to a minority of our citizens who want to re-write the architectural plans, on which we as a nation were built.  Not only from the beginning of our nation, but also from the creation of mankind by God Himself, a scared marriage was between a man and a woman.  Our wise Creator, for the welfare of the human race, placed these divine bricks in the human foundation.  This is part of the cement foundation that makes individuals, communities, a nation, and the whole world strong.  A casual study of human history will show that when these ancient bricks to a society are eroded or intentionally displaced, that power or nation sooner or later, loses its might, voice, and influence, in the affairs of mankind.

Dear fellow citizens of this great land, check out these fallen bricks.  We are on the verge of going beyond the point of no return.  We don’t call dear babies in their mothers’ wombs, babies now; we call them fetuses.  That’s a loose brick.  We don’t allow prayer in our public schools - a loose foundational brick.  Our dear children can’t sing our beloved Christmas Carols - another fallen brick.  It is illegal, so the courts tell us, to display the Ten Commandments on state property or, heaven forbid, have a Christmas manger scene displayed there.  A few more fallen bricks.  To be politically correct, commercial establishments, that make a ton of money at Christmas, must now display, Happy Holidays, instead of Merry Christmas.  More loose foundational bricks, that made our nation strong and had God’s blessing on us.  Friends, these are key bricks to our nation’s foundation that are indeed weakening us, if we continue to neglect them.

Now a whole section of our Judeo-Christian foundation is being attacked by an eroding process, as the foundation bricks of sacred marriage, is being jack-hammered by liberal theologians and liberal judges.  I often hear the question asked, if two women or two men love each other and want to marry, how does that bother or effect others?  Here is how in my belief.  We live in this great nation and when the foundation crumbles, the society I and you enjoy, falls too.  If the foundation of a home is destroyed, all the rooms above soon follow.  Fallen bricks, means a fallen home.

Now I know, from reading previous letters in this column, I will be accused of being unloving and hateful.  But may I remind those that make such accusations, that true love often must confront and say no.  If someone wants to live contrary to the clear teachings of God’s design, that’s their choice, but don’t ask the nation or the religious community to bless and sanctify that eroding choice.  Don’t expect or ask the institution of the church or synagogue to declare right what is clearly wrong according to the whole counsel of God’s Divine Inerrant Word.  I have served my country for your right to make such choices - and would do it again - but don’t ask me to endorse it or give my approval.

I leave you with a couple of quotes from the lips of Jesus Christ and the Apostle Peter.  Yes, He taught us to love one another, but He also taught much about sin and disobedience to a Holy God.   The love of God does not override the judgment of God.  God’s judgment was satisfied by Christ on the cross, but if you have come to Christ to receive His atonement, you should be seeking to live a life that is holy before a Holy God.

I am a sinner, saved by Christ and grace.  I struggle every day of my life to please Him who died for me.  I do not write from a holier than thou mountain top position.  Without the Holy Spirit’s power each day and the forgiveness for daily sins available in 1 John 1:9, I would succumb to daily sin.  I write to caution us, as Americans, to keep sacred and in place the Judeo-Christian foundational bricks, which God set in place, long before you and I were given life.

Matthew 7:13  Enter ye in at the strait gate: for  wide  is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in there at: 14  Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

John 3:36  He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

John 16: 7  Nevertheless I tell you  the  truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away,  the  Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.  8  And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment

1 Peter 1:15  but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,  16  because it is written, " Be holy, for I am  holy ."

Well, this is probably too long already, but if we call ourselves true believers, we must recognize sin in our lives, confess it, and seek to be holy in our conduct, in our living, even in the privacy of our own bedrooms, because God sees all.

Finally, if you agree with this article, why not make a copy and send to your state and national representatives.  Let them know that you support the sacred bricks of marriage, which are defined as a man and a woman united as one, in God’s Holy foundational drawings, the Bible.

Merry Christmas
