Mops

Home

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) at Nute Ridge Bible Chapel, want to thank you all for all your support and prayers. We’d like to share a few praise reports from our MOPS ministry.

bulletThis group is one of thousands of MOPS groups around the world. It is a non-profit Christian ministry that connects with moms through Charter groups such as ours, weekly and monthly e-mail devotionals, web-site support, mom-related recourses and bi-monthly subscriptions to MOPSense magazine.
bulletOur MOPS meetings convene twice a month. At each meeting we open with prayer among the leaders, followed by a time of fellowship. Christian resources have been given to our moms in the form of give-a-ways.
bulletThe meetings provide mother-related topics from our Mentor, and talks from guest speakers, ranging from parenting skills and marriage advice to child seat safety. We also take part in Discussion Groups which provide a more intimate time of sharing where our leaders take the opportunity to witness how the Lord has worked in their lives. We then end in participating in a craft, which allows moms to take something home with them.
bulletAt least two mothers have shown interest in attending Nute Ridge services. Several mothers have taken the opportunity to share personal challenges their lives with Laurie Jacobs our precious Mentor.
bulletWe meet the first Friday morning of the month at the Chapel from 9am-11: 30am. During this meeting, we provide child-care, also called "Moppets" (the children are the Moppets).
bulletWe have been so blessed to have seven terrific women who volunteer 3 ˝ hours of their time to take wonderful care of our mothers’ children. The nursery has provided space for over 24 children at one time…this is a precious sight to see.
bulletChildrens outings are planned for the second Friday of the month which include seasonal events such as hayrides at Emery
Farm, Crafts and holiday music specials, and Christmas
cookie decorating in the new church basement along
 with springtime events.
bulletOur second meeting is the third Friday evening from 7-9:30 pm.
bullet This meeting provides a very warm atmosphere where our moms feel at home unwinding from a tiring day. Our meetings begin in late September and end in May.
bulletThe MOPS at NRBC is being lead by six women on the Steering Committee. We have a great team: Beth Perko-coordinator, Sarah Levasseur-Asst. coordinator, Jean Gagnon-Publicity Leader, Melissa Bolduc- CreativeActivities Leader, Sheree Yates-Hospitality Leader and Laurie Jacobs as our Mentor Mother.
As a team, we meet once a month for devotionals, praise and prayer requests, event planning, evangelism training and fellowship. Through careful planning and support of one another we are able to accomplish more than our leadership duties. MOPS would not be successful if it weren’t for all these women’s gracious efforts and dedication.
bulletWe have also received interest in providing a Bible study for our moms.
bulletThe Lord has had His hand on MOPS at NRBC. He has continued to provide the resources, the mothers and their children, as well as the awesome support of the pastors and church members. Our moms have shown a great appreciation for having MOPS in their lives and they look forward to having this time to share and grow in the Lord.
